Question: How long can I expect my battery to last?
Answer: Using a 6000 mAh battery, the expected battery life is approximately:
- 0 seconds: 1 day (recommended only while configuring schedules)
- 5 seconds: 3 days
- 10 seconds: 7 days
- 20 seconds: 14 days
- 30 seconds: greater than 3 weeks
Actual battery life will vary depending on feed duration and how often the controller remains connected to a computer. Feed times may be very short compared to sleep time and so changing sleep time has a much larger affect on battery life.
Question: Sometimes I click "Select Controller" but I get "No Controllers found." What does this mean and what should I do?
Answer: This means the controller is in sleep mode. To conserve battery power the controller wakes for only a few seconds. If the browser page isn't searching for a controller, the controller will go back to sleep. Wait for the sleep time to expire and when the controller appears, select it immediately.
Question: Sometimes I select a controller but it doesn't appear as selected. What does this mean?
Answer: The controller can go to sleep any time when the User Interface isn't used. This can happen when a controller appears but goes to sleep just before you select it. Wait for the sleep time to expire and when the controller appears, select it immediately.
Question: When I click "Select Controller," it tells me I have to install new firmware and I can't use the controller anymore. What is wrong?
Answer: Occasionally improvements may be made to the web site or the controller. Sometimes the controller firmware must be updated in order to work correctly with the web site. Take a few seconds and follow the instructions to install the firmware. Everthing will work again the next time you connect to the controller.
