A battery or charger greater than 6 volts will damage the FeedMe controller.
The FeedMe Controller is not waterproof but it is water resistant.
Replace the Sweeney controller with the FeedMe controller.
A small FeedMe Helper program must be installed on the computer so the browser can locate and communicate with FeedMe controllers on the local network.
The FeedMe Helper starts automatically each time you log into Windows.
NOTE: FeedMe uses WiFi. This means the FeedMe must be within communication range of your WiFi, and must not be blocked by the metal case of the feeder box. Mount the FeedMe controller on a side of the feeder box which does not block the radio signals.
This is a typical layout of the user interface. Note that the display data is valid only when the computer is communicating with the controller.
Date/Time
The current date and time are loaded automatically by the controller.
Note: There may be tens of seconds difference between the FeedMe controller and your computer.
Controller Selection
The FeedMe application can connect to many controllers. The Controller Selection window shows the current controller selected. The Select Controller button allows the user to scan for and select any controller that is online.
Always use Select Controller when you first open the application.
Off-line / On-line
When the controller is off-line, it is in sleep mode to conserve battery power. When it is on-line, the controller is awake and your computer can communicate to determine the current schedule and make changes.
About
The About button displays information about the currently selected FeedMe controller, including software and firmware versions.
Firmware updates, if required, are installed using this menu.
Battery Status
This display indicates the current charge level of the battery.
Controller Status
The controller can be turned ON or OFF. When ON, the programmed feeding schedule is active. When OFF, all scheduled feeding is disabled.
Sleep Time
To conserve battery power, the FeedMe controller automatically enters sleep mode between activities. The longer the sleep time, the longer the battery will last. However, a longer sleep time also increases the maximum time your computer may wait before connecting to the controller.
For example, if the sleep time is set to 30 seconds and the controller goes to sleep just before your computer attempts to connect, you might wait up to 30 seconds before the controller wakes up.
Refer to the FAQ for details regarding battery discharge times.
Feeder Status
This status normally displays Idle. When the motor is running, it displays either Manual Feed or the schedule number, day of the week and time associated with the automatic feed.
Next Feed Time
This status displays the next scheduled feeding event, including the schedule number.
Manual Control
A manual feed can be started at any time by selecting the desired feed duration and motor speed.
To save your preferred manual feed duration and speed, click the Save Schedule button.
Schedule
Up to nine schedules may be configured. Every controller always contains at least one schedule. Additional schedules can be added by clicking the Add Schedule button.
Each schedule can be enabled or disabled without deleting it. For each schedule you may select:
Unlike Sweeney timers, a single schedule may be used for multiple days. For example, if your koi are fed every day at the same time, create one schedule, select the desired time, and enable every day of the week.
If your koi are fed twice each day, create a second schedule with a different time and again select every day of the week.
The flexibility of multiple schedules also allows seasonal feeding programs. For example, one group of schedules may be used during summer and another during winter. Simply enable or disable schedules to quickly change feeding times, durations, motor speeds and feeding days.
